Adrienne and Chris were married at St. John’s Cathedral on a beautiful July evening. Adrienne reached out to me to photograph their engagements, her bridals and their wedding. Shooting in south Louisiana is always tricky due to weather. It is either 9000 degrees outside or pouring down raining. The weather has a mind of it’s own and it’s definitely hard to make plans around it. Thankfully there was no rain on Chris and Adrienne’s day!!
Adrienne got ready at her beautiful Saint streets cottage while Chris got ready at the Buchanan Lofts. The lofts are so great for groomsmen prep! St. John’s Cathedral is such an amazing church to shoot it. It’s bright and open and the light bounces so well in there.
The one good thing about July is that is doesn’t get dark until almost 8:30PM. Even if you have a later ceremony, all you need is 15-20 minutes before sunset for portraits. I always try to squeeze in at least that much time, especially if you choose to not do a first look. Wedding days fly by so fast and it can be hard to find time for just the two of you, but I promise it’s worth it.
I had the best time celebrating with these two on their wedding night. After our portraits we headed to the Petroleum club and danced the night away. It was full of champagne, lots of laughter, and a reception full of love. Here are my favorites from Chris & Adrienne’s day!! Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your day.
