Rebecca and Chad were married at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Delcambre on what seems like the hottest day this summer! The heat index had to be at least 113 degrees at eleven o'clock in the morning. They were troopers during their portraits though, and I am so grateful for that!!! They had the sweetest little reception at Maison de Tours that evening! I asked Rebecca to tell me about how her and Chad met and a little about their proposal. Here's what she had to say!
How it all began
Chad and Rebecca knew each other long before they realized there was anything more there, though they always had a connection. Both were veterinarians working busy schedules in a mixed animal veterinary practice and would’ve never seen that their friendship could turn into so much more and bring them such happiness. Getting dirty in coveralls working on horses and cattle in the summer heat is where it all started and they wouldn’t have it any other way!
The proposal
With their work friendship being the spark that would ignite their future together, it was only fitting that Chad pop the question at the place where it all began. Rebecca was working a typical busy afternoon at the veterinary office when she received the news that there was an emergency coming in. As is customary, when the emergency patient arrives at the hospital, the veterinarian on duty is paged immediately. “Dr. Rebecca you have an emergency,” was announced on the loud speaker through the building.
She rushed into the room she was directed, only to find Chad down on one knee. It took a moment to take it all in and realize there wasn’t truly an emergency, but the answer to the question, “Will you marry me?” was a “Yes!!” What made the big question even more special was that Randon, Chad’s son, was present for the proposal and a part of the whole journey. They exited the examination room with a crowd of staff that were in on the surprise waiting to hear the news!
