If there is a session I have always wanted to shoot but hadn't had the opportunity to shoot yet, it would be this session. I have dreamed about shooting at Nottoway for years and it's not hard to see why. I am so happy that Gabrielle gave me this opportunity.
I asked Gabrielle if she had any advice on planning a wedding during the pandemic and here is what she had to say:
My advice would be to not stress over the little details. It all ends up working out in the end, and the ones who love you the most will be there to support and celebrate you. I think as long as you keep the reason for the wedding at the center of your planning, nothing else really matters. That’s what I kept telling everyone throughout my planning process, I just wanted to marry the love of my life!
How Kody & Gabrielle Met:
Kody and I met at McNeese during the Spring of 2017 semester. We were taking the same Math 170 class and ended up connecting one day before class when he was asking me about trigonometry. (Which looking back, he totally did not need any help from me because he is way better at math than me) From there, we eventually made plans to go fishing together with friends, but all of our friends magically had to “cancel”. The weather ended up being awful that day, so he drove all the way from Lake Charles to Rayne to take me on a date instead. Ever since then, we have been inseparable. A few weeks later, he asked me to be his girlfriend outside of my parents’ house which would end up being where he asked me to be his wife on Leap Day this year. It was just us and he asked me to go outside because he had one last birthday present for me and that’s when he proposed. He told me “A day like today only comes around once every four years, but a woman like you only comes around once in a lifetime.” It was so special and intimate, and I could not imagine him proposing any other way!
