There is something special to me about friends getting engaged. Sam and I met somewhere along the way in college while studying photography, and through her I met Justin. As I watched their relationship grow, I wondered when Justin would propose. He ended up messaging me at the end of March with a plan and I was thrilled. When they asked me to photograph their engagement session, I was excited to make more memories with these two. We ventured out to Clark Creek one Saturday afternoon for their session and walked the creek bed down to a couple of the falls. Days spent with my dearest friends are always the most important ones. Sam often told Nikki and I that “Justin better get one of you to photograph it or I’m gonna be pissed.”
Since I have my own memories about the day Justin proposed, I wanted Sam’s insight on the day. She told me that nothing was out of the ordinary. She knew they would be going to Lafayette and going Kayaking out at Lake Martin, she said it was very normal for them to do those things. She said that the thing that meant the most to her that day was the thought put into it, and that Justin knows exactly who she is and what is important to her. He handmade a book for her when he proposed which they plan to write their vows in to continue their story. She said it was the perfect blend of each of them. I remember being incredibly nervous the morning Justin proposed because I didn’t want Sam to see me, and at one point I think she almost did. I am so incredibly excited for these two and for the next big adventure to come! I love you both!
