Jordan & John are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet and if you know them, then you know this to be true. They got married on a wet and cold Saturday evening in November. Being from Louisiana, we all know these days are far and few inbetween. It’s been a while since I have shared my work, but I am excited to share my favorites from Jordan & John’s wedding.
Their Vendors:
I didn’t have many vendors! Our sheet cake for the guests and my bouquet was from Albertsons. Our wedding cake was from Mrs. B’s Sweets and Treats in Broussard.
All of our decorations and flowers were thrifted and things we started to collect for the wedding. Amazon, Hobby Lobby and Michael’s.
Our DJ was Justin Este.
Food and Venue: L’Eglise
How Jordan & Johh met:
Jordan & John both grew up in and around Lafayette, LA, and attended the same high school. Being three years apart, they knew of each other, even playing in the band together, but they did not meet until after both finished their undergrad degrees and their friend groups began frequenting the same bars downtown. One night, John’s friends recommended he should talk to Jordan and the rest is history.
How John proposed:
It was July 17, 2020. We were scoping out our new house in Pensacola before we moved in. After walking around and checking out all the rooms. John pulled me aside in the kitchen, and he said “let me see your left hand” and proceeded to grab my right hand on accident! As he got down on one knee, I had tears in my eyes and I said “that’s my right hand!” He was so nervous and we both laughed. He grabs my left hand and asked me to be his wife while presenting the most beautiful ring I have ever seen.
Jordan’s favorite part of her wedding day:
-our unique and sentimental vows
– dancing with friends and family
– the 4 song emo set 🖤
Jordan’s advice to couples currently planning their wedding:
Don’t get married during the middle of your school semester (just kidding). It’s incredibly hard to plan a wedding while in school and working full time. While it’s absolutely doable, there were definitely some stressful moments. So plan out everything in advance!
To add to the small details: at the end of the day, it’s about celebrating you and the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with. Don’t sweat the small details because you won’t even have time to pay attention to them during your big day. Lastly, people are not lying when they say that it will go by fast, because it really does!
