Nikki and I have been friends for almost 10 years. We met on one of Nikki's first days of college and were lucky enough to cross paths again in fine arts. During that time we met Sam! We have had a lot of adventures over the years. In 2016 I photographed Sam & Justin's engagement photos. So it was fitting for me to photograph Nikki and Perry's as well! The three of us have talked a lot about getting engaged and married over the years.
Nikki and Perry came in to town for my wedding this past December. I had enough liquid courage AKA tequila, in my system to ask Perry about when he was going to propose. A month and a half after my wedding, Nikki texted Sam and I that she and Perry had gotten engaged!! We were so excited for the two of them! Nikki asked me if I would come to Colorado for engagement photos and of course I said YES. I was so excited to shoot outside of Louisiana again! It's nice when I can get some diverse scenery!
We started looking for potential locations for their photos and came across Echo Lake. It was perfect for what they wanted. We had a location, a date, and flights were booked. It was Matthew's first time in Colorado and my second. It was so nice to be in cooler weather and near the mountains again. I will have to do separate blog post for our Denver adventures!
I shot their session on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect even though on the drive in the mountains looked like they were getting some rain. Most of Echo Lake was still frozen from the winter, but that didn't stop us from having fun! Here are some of my favorite moments from Nikki and Perry's engagement session.
