Downtown Lafayette Engagements – Alyssa & Stephen

I met Alyssa and Stephen downtown Lafayette on a weekday morning for their session. There was hardly anyone around since it was during work hours. I had never shot at this time around downtown Lafayette and it was a breath of fresh air. I brought them around to my favorite spots and explored some new ones with them. It's always great when you can find a new little spot that you hadn't noticed before or a spot where the light hadn't looked like that before. Downtown Lafayette is such a unique area!

After making our rounds downtown, we headed over to Parc Lafayette near River Ranch. I had never shot an engagement session here so it was nice to bring a couple here for some casual photographs.

I shot Alyssa's sisters wedding last October and when she reached out to me I was excited to be able to document both of their days. They are such a fun group of people and they definitely know how to have fun!

I always find it interesting working with new people. Some people are so natural and others need more direction. I have been working on using prompts to help the flow of sessions and to keep my clients active and to keep them having fun. I was able to try a couple new fun ones on Alyssa and Stephen and it's always exciting to see the outcome. I am learning to tell people exactly what I need them to do to get the exact shot I am looking for. Their session was full of lots of snuggles, kisses, and laughter. I mean how cute are they though! I cannot wait to shoot their wedding at the end of September! Here are my favorites from their session!!
