Canyonlands National Park

Backstory

I am posting this after holding onto these images from Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park for almost three and a half years.  They came from a cross country road trip from Calgary, AB to Lafayette, LA. I've posted them here and there on Instagram and Facebook, but never here. I don't know why I thought about them after all this time. Maybe it's my longing for another trip and having to wait until November for that.

Which really isn't a long time, but on my last trip to Cabo I didn't really take any photos. Which is sometimes a good thing because I often get too caught up in being behind the camera rather than enjoying things. I wanted that trip to be spent with my husband Matthew. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't get as much time as he deserves. Work life balance can sure be a tough thing to manage.

Back to the trip now. After leaving Calgary we headed down to Bozeman then on through Idaho Falls, Salt Lake City, and then Moab. We drove to Moab in the middle of the night, so waking up the next morning to a bunch of big red rocks was a complete shock. It's like you know they are red, but seeing them in person is so much different.

Canyonlands National Park

I'm a huge fan of the national parks. I have a poster that's basically a scratch off, but with stickers. You can find it here. When we were there we only had a day to do both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park but we definitely made it a quick trip. We drove the Grand View Point Rd into the park. You will find that in some of the national parks the roads make a loop, however this one doesn't. There are several entrances to this park but we only had time to do one. Same thing with Arches National park. We only had time to drive Arches Scenic, but it was enough to give me an idea if I'd like to go back one day.

I always do love sharing my trips. Sometimes you go places where people have only dreamed of going, but then sometimes dreams become realities. Here are my favorite images from that trip.
